The floor of the 599 car received its final coat of paint today-ready for seat installation on Monday!
The Army diesel 1265 hauled its first load of cars, with George Sapp in the engineer's seat. (Don't worry, the look is temporary, it's scheduled for a paint job this week).
After some last-minute tweaking, the #2 was ready for action. Stephanie Tadlock stands by to conduct, as George lubricates, and John Stier looks on.
On the unadvertised 2PM run, Car Host Mike Rainwater conducts on-board training for car hosts (and a few park visitors).
Long-time volunteer, Dottie Bolander, enjoys the view out of the rear of the train.

As the group photo was taken, the engine crew headed back from an extra test run.
And the day finally comes to a close, as the #2 heads back into the roundhouse. We're ready for visitors next weekend, come visit!
